Reese Witherspoon & Andrea Hyde
The South continues to prove fertile creative ground for Nashville-raised actress Reese Witherspoon. She earned an Academy Award for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in the 2005 biopic, Walk the Line, then tapped into her Tennessee roots again in 2015 to launch , a growing lifestyle brand with a focus on fashion, accessories, and home goods inspired by the South. Washington, D.C. native and North Carolina educated, Andrea Hyde, who headed Burch Creative Capital, with stints at Estee Lauder and The Gap, joined Witherspoon as the CEO of the Southern-accented retail company. A digitally native brand, Draper James added brick-and-mortars in Dallas and Lexington in addition to their Nashville flagship with another store slated to open in Atlanta this fall. Draper James also launched a capsule collection with Net-a-Porter this Spring, and is now featured in Nordstrom stores across the country.
